Registration Information

Business Ownership Initiative looks forward to seeing you at one or more of our upcoming business workshops!  Below please find our policies and procedures regarding registering and paying for workshops.

Registration policies and procedures:

  • Pre-registration is required 24 hours in advance for all workshops to reserve your space in the class.  Last-minute registrations and walk-ins may be turned away if the class is full.
  • Registration may be completed in one of the following ways:

    --Use our online workshop registration system:  When you have found a workshop session you are interested in under the Workshop Calendar or Workshop List, simply click the ‘Add to Cart’ button.  When you are finished selecting classes, click ‘Checkout’ under your Shopping Cart to complete the registration process.  You will be prompted to create a user account, which will allow you to log in at a later time to view the workshops that you have registered for and completed.

Payment policies and procedures:

  • Because of grants from the U.S. Small Business Administration and private foundations, BOI is able to offer workshops to you at highly discounted fees.  Some workshops have a fixed fee, while others use a sliding fee scale that determines your fee based on your household income and number of dependents.
  • If you are planning to attend multiple workshops, consider purchasing a “LEAP” card the next time you are at our office.  With a pre-paid LEAP card, you can save money by getting five $10 classes for $40, a savings of $10!  (LEAP-ing is what leapfrogs do and since that is our mascot, we chose to call this money-saving card a LEAP card.)
  • Workshop fees must be paid in full prior to attending a class.
    --For series workshops (that meet for more than one session), payment is required one week before the start of the class to secure your spot in the class.
    --For one-night only workshops, payment is encouraged in advance, but will also be accepted at the door.
  • Our online registration system allows you to prepay for workshops through Paypal, where you can use your Paypal account or pay with a debit or credit card.  After completing the workshop registration, simply click the ‘Pay Now’ button to use Paypal to pay for the workshop or workshops.
  • Payments may also be mailed to our office, dropped off during business hours (8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.), or brought to the workshop if it is not a workshop that requires prepayment.  Payments made in person are only accepted in the form of cash or a check.

 

Cancellation and refund policies:

  • Workshop fees are nonrefundable.  In the case of cancellation, any fees paid will be applied to your attendance in a future workshop.
  • If you are unable to attend a class that you have registered for, please let us know as soon as possible by calling (317) 917-3266 ext. 100 or emailing information@businessownership.org so that we can make your spot available to another participant.
  • BOI reserves the right to cancel classes that do not have sufficient registrations or due to circumstances beyond our control, such as instructor cancellation or inclement weather.  If a workshop is cancelled, you will be contacted and informed of the next available offering of that workshop.  Your registration and payment will be transferred to the next available workshop.
